Missing in action

Well I am a bad blogger right now, but only because I can't get a connection on my laptop and my pc is still not connected. I guess this is God's way of telling me to slow down, something of which I don't know how to do. So I am making the best of things and working on squash books for Brenda's shop. It could have been mine also, but I didn't have $30,000 to invest. But I do get to make things for the shop.

So until I can get my computer up and running again, I will just create. I'm working on a surprise and hope to get it finished for a Christmas in July giveaway. Hugs to all of you who visit.

Unbelievable voice of a 6 year old

Got this from Jackie's blog and for those who don't visit her, you have got to see this video. This little girl is awesome---hope she gets to sing for the Queen.

Word Wands

When I posted these, I realized that if you put your pics in the center, you can't click on them to see full size, so I am reposting them for those who might like to try and make them. They are really fun and if you have a Cropadile, punching the holes is like slicing through butter. I belong to a puzzle art collaboration group and we had to make 4 for 4. I decoupaged paper to them, then did the stamping and embellishing.

Getting creative

I wanted to work on other things for Brenda's shop and my niece needed 10 squash books, at least that is what I call them, so I figured I would work on hers first and get them out of the way. These are really cool and are going to make great Christmas gifts. Depending on the cardstock that you use, they are very inexpensive to make. I am not very good at teaching, so I hope you can look at the folds and understand how they are made.

Made the front page

I am so excited. My retro birthday card was chosen for Challenge of the week on a group I belong to. We had to make something for a birthday and I really like black and white with glitter. So now my card is on the front page of our group and that is thrilling for me.

Tagged for Dreams

Well Mary at mymothersdaughter tagged me for my dreams.

1. I dream of a world free from All diseases.
2. I dream that we have an end to wars, especially the ones we don't belong in.
3. I dream that everyone could share the wealth.
4. I dream of meeting all my cyber friends.
5. I dream of a world free from natural disasters.
6. I dream for a miracle cure for those who are ill, including myself.
7. I dream that everyone's wishes come true.

Now I tag Nettie, PatUK, and Carol(cajun)

I am really enjoying rubber stamping as I can make a card faster than stitching and beading, although it's still my favorite thing to do. I hope this opens up a new world for me as one of my bestest friends is a Stampin Up demoer or whatever they are called. I do have a bazillion rubber stamps that need attention. I love this quote, so will probably look for lots of cards to put it on----since I always look for the good in people---my hubby said I was a magnet for the underdog, but he didn't see what I saw in people.

The purple spring card was harder to make than any I have done and I do have some flaws, but I usually keep the hard ones so I can see how it was done. I am a visual person and I can usually look at something and make it, but not always. There are some things that I need right in front of me----Maybe that's why I loved biology---I could dissect things to see how they worked.

Never too early for Christmas

Well I decided if I wanted Christmas cards for the shop, I had better get busy. I really want to get in Natashia's matchbox swap that Nettie posted and the Sweet Goodness swap with Leigh Ann's group, but I find my time so limited right now.
Rita will be proud of me that I learned how to mask, so going to work on a card using the mask technique.
The poinsettia stamp is from Holly Berry and the writing stamp is Rubberstampede. Not good at instructions, but the cardstock is Bazzill but can't remember the color. Next time I will write down everything I used in case anyone wants to make one. I stamped and embossed the poinsettia and then stamped another and cut it out for 3-d.
Well I've got my 2 nieces and my 2 gc here, so I need to tend to them before they destroy my apt. Have a great night.

I'm learning to rubber stamp

Well I am taking the plunge and giving it a shot at rubber stamping. I know I've got a long way to go, but I'll get there, probably with lots of mistakes, but I figure mistakes are better than not trying. I think I could get hooked on this as I did with beading and stitching. Any criticism will be taken as a lesson and I am a willing student.

Altered tongue depressors

Today was a busy day for me and got a few things done. I am in an art group that alters different things and I really had fun doing these. Now I need to look at other things that can be altered. Also giving a try with rubber stamping and did make a booboo, so I tried to cover it with a jewel. I think I can just be patient now and do some more.

My Favorite Thrifty find

Today was a very busy day for me---painting cabinet doors that go in the bathroom, altering some tongue depressors, washing clothes and organizing a few things, so you can see my life can be boring sometimes. I had this spice holder and put my jewels in it and love the eye candy, but I also have some real candy. I got these for a Father's Day gift and might have to try some myself.

A little something for a sweet lady

I love to play with paint shop pro and since I don't belong to any groups anymore, I thought I would make this for Paula---hope that's okay and you like it. He is a great looking young man and Happy Birthday to him.

Card for a sweet lady

Making this card for a special lady has given me so much spirit and I hope it gets there before she leaves for her surgery. Thanks Paula for leading me to her blog. Just reading her post today gave me so much strength. She is truly a remarkable lady and I pray the best for her.

Our "Unsung Heroes"

Today I thought I would post about the unsung heros---the wives, daughters, sisters and mothers for all those who serve, even the husbands, fathers, and sons.

Tomorrow night a new show will be on TV----Army wives. I think I am going to make that my favorite Sunday night viewing.

We seem to forget what they sacrifice for all of us. Their significants go off to fight for our freedom and they are left to take care of home and business.

I appreciate all you do for your other half. It takes a strong and courageous sacrifice to allow them to fight for us. Thank you for all you do for us, because without you, The men and women of the Armed Forces would have no one to come home to. You are our "Unsung Heroes". May God watch over all of you also and protect our men and women until they come home safe.

Relaxing

Well the week has flown by and the relaxing will be over. Had a great visit with parents, son, gc, dil, and aunts, but it's time to go home. I got to do some shopping and found some great new cardstock for cards.

I am in for some real fun next week, as I have to have injections in each hip and I hope my sister is in a good mood when it comes time---talk about getting even-lol. I have a wonderful pain management dr who is trying his best to keep me off schedule 2 narcotics because he told us I have at least 26 more years to deal with the pain. So for me, the shots were good news and I will be able to tolerate the pain better and won't be all drugged up.

I did manage to make a beautiful card to send out, but don't want to post it just yet---it's a surprise for a girl on another blog.

Well it's been a boring but delightful week and I hope you all have a great weekend---free from the rain we have been getting daily.
