Freezing weather with no snow

I'm not sure how tired everyone is with the snow and the cold, but I can't wait for spring to get here. We have been having cold freezes,, no snow, rain, then it warms up and then freezes again. This whole week we have freezing temps in the morning. Yesterday, I went in for my epidural and there was ice on the windshield and very cold. Thank goodness they give you warm blankets when they bring you to the back. The epidural went well and only mild pain when injections started. He did this one on my C5 and C6, so the bulging disk will feel better. I am avoiding surgery by having these epidurals and I am really afraid to have surgery on my neck.

My storage room is finished and already filled with things I need to store until my expansion of my craft room. I am so excited about that, because it will begin when we get our income tax refunds. Al can't do all the work at one time, so each payday, he will use his overtime pay to buy more material. I think that will make me want to craft more than I am doing right now. I am currently sewing some curtains for the kitchen in the apt. in the country. I won't be moving back when I thought I would. I am waiting until they rent out both the house and the apt to move, so I can help with the bills. The house is just about finished and my parents would be so happy living in it, but I am sure they are looking down from Heaven and seeing the wonderful job we did updating everything. It doesn't look like the same house anymore. We have 2 potential clients that are interested and one is very interested in it, but he needs the garage and we have to keep that for all our maintenance supplies to keep the house up, plus the lawnmower and other things that most renters don't have.
Well guess I have bored you all to sleep, but I am feeling so great I had to tell you all. I hope you are all fine in blogland and getting through the snow storms. Love and hugs, Pat

Feeling great today

I am feeling so good after the epidural but I can't lift anything or strain, but it feels so good to be pain free, even if for only 6 months. I am addressing cards and sending out packages before it's too late.

I went to see my internist and I have to have some heart test done again. I pray the blockage hasn't gotten worse. I will have to have the stress test done first and then we go from there. I had to take nitro the other day and that is not a good sign, so he is making sure there are no more problems with my heart.

My son is coming in a day earlier and I am getting so excited. We are going to buy a gingerbread house already baked and decorate it for Christmas. I have done this for many years and don't want to stop. My gd will be here also to help and she is just the sweetest and most polite child if I do say so myself. Her parents have done a great job with them and they are doing well in school. My gs marched in the Christmas parade in Lafayette, but we couldn't make it. They told us too late and plans couldn't be changed, but there is always next year.

Going to try and get my Christmas trees posted on my blog---there is a link on the right side of my blog and it will take you there. Hope to have them up soon. Love and hugs, Pat

Finally found my "Flower Child" wedding photo

I finally found one of my wedding pictures and as you can see, I had a "flower child" wedding, even though I was 23 years old. Those were the days of bell bottom pants and mini skirts, but my dress was knee length. This was taken in our trailer after we went to the Justice of the Peace. When we had our marriage blessed in the Catholic Church, I have no idea what happened to those pictures, but I wore a simple dress, then we went home for a little family get together. Al look like a gangster is this suit and I always laugh when I see it, but having a simple wedding lasted longer than any of our friends. All 7 of our best friends had big weddings and have all divorced since then.

I had my epidural yesterday, and I am feeling a little drunk today and want to eat everything in sight because of the steroids. I have to watch my sugar intake because of the diabetes---steroids make your sugar level rise.

We have been having rain every day since Alex started in the Gulf. Oil is worse than ever and you could see it in the waves as they broke on shore. It will be decades before the beaches are safe to go into the water and I for one, am not going into it until I know it is safe to go in the water.

Not much else going on. Just waiting to find out when my surgery will take place. I never knew neurosurgeons were so booked that you had to wait forever, but that is how things stand for now. I hope you all have a great day. It is dark and gloomy here today and I am supposed to rest for a couple of days, but I can drive starting tonight and that is a good thing as Al will be coming this afternoon, so I can go and pick up a few things I need. Love and Hugs, Pat
