Many thanks to Linda aka Craftygardener for this wonderful award. It's my first and it means a lot to me that she thinks I am

deserving of this award. Thank you Linda.

Some of mom's crafting things

I spent today sorting out some of the boxes of things that my dad gave me. This is only an iota of what mom has collected over the years.

The small bowl lid is filled with old pieces of jewelry and old rhinestones that I will be able to us on my cards.

There are still 4 rooms in her shop that will have to find a place, but I told Dad that it would have to wait until my new craft room is added on here.

There were gazillons of gem stones that have filled spice jars and now I want to go to yard sales to look for odd bottles to store them in. I do have some already, but not nearly enough.

Since I have to share the huge room as a bedroom also, I took some units and divided the space.

Not sure what I can make with the holeless beads but will search the internet for something.
I actually felt like mom was here while I sorted----felt like a little girl going through her mom's jewelry box. Mom definately was compulsive, but I had no idea it was that bad. I may never have to buy another charm, bead, gem, or findings---only glue and cardstock and of course any new tools that make crafting easy.
This will also enable me to do lots of RAKs and doing lots of altering. I still have lots more sorting to do, but I have cards that need to be done---Christmas will be here before I know it.
Brenda's shop is due to open on November 1st. Everything is in order and the contractors will be taking out walls and building dressing rooms.
Well it's 2 in the morning and I am going to sleep. Going to my dad's next week to help him with some paper work and writing a new will and just keeping him company. Have a great weekend everyone and thank you to all of you for the birthday wishes. Hugs, Pat

I think one of my bil's 18 wheelers hit me

Hi everyone. I have to apologize from my heart for not sending out the squash books. Laurie, I lost your e-mail somehow, so if you read this, please send it again. I will be going home on Saturday, unless my uncle dies before then---yes, you heard right. I haven't had time to grieve and I am still going to funerals and visiting dying family.

Spent the night at my dad's with my younger sister and it was nice. Going to visit him tomorrow before I leave. Then when I return Again in a week, I will stay a couple of nights with him.

Will package the books and mail them out. I am never late for swaps and I just feel horrible, especially since I had planned on a special birthday giveaway, so maybe I'll have a Spooky one in October.

Could someone please come and rub and back, feet, and give me my injection. I can't find anyone to do it for me and Brenda is not here.

Our shop is looking good and should be opening up soon. We are looking for someone to do a web site for us---everything is ready, but the merchandise, but Brenda is leaving for Atlanta tomorrow, so can't wait. At least it will keep me busy and my mind occupied---daytime anyway.

Well, hope all of you in Texas aren't getting flooded. We did get some rain and cool weather from it and now just watching what Dean is going to do. Have a great weekend and hopefully will have something good to post when I return. Big Hugs to all of you for all your prayers and well wishes.

Prayers for my best's friends mother and family

Asking for prayers for my best friend's mother who died last night. I am repacking again for a 2 hour drive to stand by her as she did for me.

I hope it's just superstition when they say people die in 3s. I have to put my grief aside to be with her at the same place my mom was, so I could use some prayers for strength. Hugs, Pat

One more post for today

When I returned from my Dad's, there were lots of packages waiting and this is the giveaway I won from Jamie at Simply Me Art. I love all of it and Thank you again Jamie, this was wonderful.

Okay, there were actually things in the beautiful green tissue---just wanted to keep you in suspense.

Then my birthday present was also here when I got back---there are 2 of them and now my rubber stamps are all in the drawers by category.

Mom's ring

Here is the ring that my dad put in my hand. I am the oldest daughter and he wanted me to have it. We found her original wedding ring and the band was so worn that it was split, so we are going to make a charm for him to wear on a chain under his clothes.

It's getting better all the time

Well I am having good moments right now. Talked with Dad last night and he is also having good moments, but nights are tough.

Before we left, he talked with my oldest brother and Brenda and said he wanted me to take Mom's crafting, beading, and sewing things home, but will need a u-haul, seriously.

But the greatest surprise was when I was sitting in the living room and he put something in my hand---a beautiful ring he had just bought my mother. Not sure if it's the real thing, but it doesn't matter. There was also a beautiful topaz ring, but I gave it to my youngest sister as she asked if she could have it----aren't I a nice person. A heart shaped jewelry box went missing and that is probably where her Mother's ring we all gave her is. I also lost my antidepressant medicine and have some ideas about that, but that's a whole other story. I only brought a few things with me, probably about 1/1000 of the supplies she had.

Thanks to all of you

I just want to say thank you to everyone for your beautiful posts and prayers. I think catching up and reading will do me a world of good----any home remedies for swollen eye lids---you can hardly see my peepers.

Good news----Brenda's cysts were benign, but she has some ugly scars---I didn't think they would be that large for removal of such tiny cysts.

Well, I have loads of thank you cards that need to be done, so I am off to get started. Be back later---I need addresses for the squash book winners, so please e-mail them to me---not you Jackie--I have yours . Love and Hugs, Pat

My mom with Dad

This is the latest picture of my Mom and Dad. I will be taking a much needed rest as we just got home late last night. I haven't been eating, not hungry and just totally exhausted. My blood sugar has gone up from 89 to 151 which is bad for me because I am hypoglycemic, so I carry chocolate with me at all time.

I will try and get the squash books out, but I still need addresses----My eyes are so swollen that I can hardly see anything to find them. The service was beautiful and a friend from Austalia worte a beautiful poem that I read after the rosary and actually kept my compusure, but it was not easy. Thanks to all who hae sent well wishes. God Bless You all. Love, Pat

Our Mother has died

Please keep our family in your prayers. Our Mom died at 4 this morning from a massive heart attack. I am just thankful to God that we made ammends last year. I loved my Mom more than she ever knew and I never thought I could hurt this much. My dad isn't doing good at all. They had to give him nitro and are watching him right now. He needs your prayers now. He and our Mom just celebrated their 62nd anniversary. Brenda's husband doesn't want her going there today, but she is going to call her dr to see if she can ride if I drive.

To the winners of my giveaway, I will get your books out next week---I'm sorry for the delay, but you will get them soon. Thank you everyone for your prayers. My heart is heavy and it hurts so much. I love you all. Pat

Please keep our Mom in your prayers

Today started off really bad---it rained really hard and rain starting coming down from the ceiling in 4 places and I was in the shower when it happened and my cell phone was on my craft table and it's deader than a doorknob. Then around 10:30 last night, we got a call from our brother---he had to rush our mom to the hospital and she had a heart attack. She is stable right now and resting. She has COPD and diabetes and she was taking that diabetic drug that was giving people heart attacks, so we don't know yet what caused it. I'm exhausted but can't sleep and I have no way to get there, so Al drove to the hospital, but couldn't see her, but my brother said if things got worse he would call. I brought one of Brenda's house phones in here because she is out like a light, but she knows about it. Please keep our Mom in your prayers. My dad has had 3 heart attacks and my brother said Dad won't leave the hospital. I think if Brenda is feeling up to the ride, we may go in a couple of days---I'll have to drive.Hugs, Pat
