My messy craft rooom

I thought I would show you were I make my creations. It's a mess right now, but working on things, so no reason to clean it up. I have been collecting cubes for over 10 years now and have amassed a great many, so when my craft room is enlarged, everything will have a place. I bead, make cards, do some altering, sew, decoupage, well you name it and I might create it. I have never knitted or quilted, but would love to learn, but I'll wait until I am old to do that-lol. Clicking on the picture will let you see the mess I have right now. Ignore the light dangling---my dad made a 3 way switch and Al doesn't know how to connect the wiring for the fan. I have a switch in my bedroom to turn the light on, in the craft room and on the other side because where the closet it, there was once a porch for emergency exit. I still need to paint the door, but right now helping my siblings is the last thing on my mind. Playing and making things for friends is far more comforting that that. Also it gave me a chance to finish projects that I started before 2000 when I got sick. I am able to do a little each day, so hoping to finish before I move back to Crowley. They are trying to get the money to buy me out and that would be great even though I feel at home here and it's so peaceful. Hope you all have a great weekend. We finally got a real Spring season this year. 80s during the day and high 50s at night. Perfect weather for moi.
Don't forget to sign up for my giveaway below. It is going to be a good one for whom ever wins.

Keeping busy

As you all know, I am trying to get all my old things repainted before I move back to Crowley????????, so as soon as this house is sold or they buy me out, I will have everything done except to repaint my kitchen in white. I am going pink with accessories and I know that will be difficult to find. I found an old stove that I want, so I am starting to save money to get it, in case Al needs the stove we have when he moves out of the house. He has agreed to move out and rent a small apt.or house, so I can feel safe around my neighbors.
This old pie cabinet, he made over 18 years ago, but look at it now below. I like the way it looks much better now.

The white gives it a brand new look, even with new hinges and knobs. I wanted glass but they were too expensive and I am working on a small budget. They say repainting kitchens and new doors can be very expensive, so I am going to paint them and see how it looks. I will paint the wainscoating, then try to find some wallpaper that will have a little pink in it.

Spring has finally arrived and I want to dig up this yellow rambling rose, after all, they allowed my brother to dig up a kunquat tree and many peach trees. I have a 7 sisters rosebush that was given to me already and a few other little bulbs.

These are 3 azaleas that I had in Metairie in 1984 that I didn't like when we bought our house (double). My mom wanted them, so we took our car and pulled them out with a chain connected to the car and as you can see they have survived.
This bridal bush was one of the first things planted when they built the house in 1949, but has been chopped up so much that I think it stunted  its growth. Maybe a little fertilizer will help it out.

One of favorites is this Japenese Magnolia, but they do make a mess after blooming. Lots of other things have died from the many freezes we had this winter. We only had enough old blankets to take care of all the citrus trees in the back and since they bear fruit, I would prefer to save food than blooming plants.
The rest of my day will be spent finishing my giveaway so I can try and post it this week.
I also have some more painting to do, but that will wait.I can multi task, but I want to put all my creativity to work on the canvas.
I won't know the results from my mammogram or MRI until later in the week. The lady,Sonia, tried to be gentle but I told her to squeeze those babies to make sure if any cells were there. She let me look and explained all the spots that did show up and most of them are hormonal cysts. I carreid my MRI images with me as per doctors orders and Al will go bring them to him today. My vertebrae in my neck don't look so good and you can see the difference in the ones that have cushion and the ones that don't, but I don't know if there was a change or not. So please continue to pray until I receive great news.
Have a Beautiful Spring day. Love and Hugs, Pat

Just stopping by to wish you a belate Happy Easter

Well I have been so busy that Easter slipped my mind a little and forgot to come in wish all of you a very Blessed and Happy Easter. Sorry I'm late. I did have a wonderful day and Al came over and bar-b-cued for me---that was sweet of him. I made the potatoe salad and beans and he cooked chicken and pork sausage---I don't eat red meat and it was so good. My son and family went to Heidi's mom's for Easter, but we have the gc next weekend, so we will have another Easter with them.
Please keep me in your prayers this week. I am having an MRI to see how much damage my brother caused and then in the afternoon of the same day, I will have my mammogram. I will let you all know if I am approved for breast reduction, but not sure I am brave enough to post pictures. We will see. I know that it is a painful surgery, but my neck and back can't take it anymore and I can't have anymore epidurals for a year.
I lost some more weight, I went from 133 to 125 and didn't even try to lose it.
I will tell you another sorry story later, but now I need to get my booty to bed and get some rest. The weather is too great to sleep the day away and I have more painting to do. This one is a project I am making to sell, but it will have to be locally and I don't think I will have a problem selling it. I also want to finish my giveaway and I will give you a few hints. It's an altered canvas with music, lace, old trim, and some bling, so stay tuned, because that will be done before anymore projects are started.
Love, Hugs, and many Blessings to all of you and prayers for all who need them. May God answer your prayers as He sees fit. Just remember, He always gives us what we need. Have a great day.

My Temporary Craft Room

Having fun even though I don't have all my craft stuff here. This is my temporary room for crafting. It was actually my bedroom and apartment at one time. This was used as a kitchen and dining area and my bedroom that I am in now was me and my babies room with a bath in the middle.

A lot of these baskets and little shelves I got at Goodwill. They were brand new with the tags still on them. I am working on a Spring Fling giveaway, but I took it out of the room until it's finished, then I will post it for the giveaway. If you click on the picture you get a better look at things. I've also been painting furniture and I was finishing what I started, then got Al to bring 2 more things for me to work on.....3 stools from my kitchen and another cabinet he made for me that needs to be primed and repainted. I think when the time comes, I am painting my kitchen white with pink accents..I already found some pretty rose dishes at my neighbors garage sale. I am going to mix some soft green into it also.
Al has the money to start my bigger craft room and I am looking forward to it. We aren't getting the house, so I have to let go of that and move on. My sister posted something ugly about me on my Facebook---she called me "One sick Individual" and yes I am, but not in the way she puts it. God forgive me but I never liked my sister---ever. She lives a totally different life than I do and I want no part of the things they do. Thank goodness Jackie, one of my former craft friends, sent me a message about it, but I couldn't block her, so I got adminastration to do it for me. She told me that all Donnie's friends could read my Facebook posts, but she is wrong because I have friends only that can post. What makes people so hateful? Is is because they are jealous seeing someone happy? I just don't know. I only know I lost my very best friend with all this and she will never speak to me again. Oh well, that was how our mother was, she held grudges forever and could not say I'm sorry ever. It was always me that went to her even though I knew I had done nothing wrong.
Okay, I'm rambling now and I don't want to. So I am going back to finish one last coat on 2 pieces of furniture, then to bed. Have a great night or day. Love and  Hugs, Pat

Going off line to get back on line!

I've been doing a little decorating and this is the only thing I have that is St.Patrick, but I love these little guys and I collect minature tea sets. I am part Irish, as my great grandmother was a McFarlain and you can't get any more Irish than that. She had the brightest red hair and I guess that is where my carrot top hair came from when I was young.
Most people believe that a Shamrock is a 4 leaf clover, but as far as I know from a friend that went and brought me back some things, it's actually 3 leaves. My mom has some wild clover growing and it's rare that you find a 4 leaf.

These are a little child's pieces but I seen the possibilities of making a little showbox with the hutch and although it's not completely finished, I have gotten to the point of only adding embellishments.

This is step 2 and it wasn't easy cutting little pieces to fit inside the hutch.
This is the bottom and I didn't like the chunky knobs for legs, so out came the bead box and I like the way the they look. I am going to use beads for the handles unless I can find some tiny little crystal beads that look like old knobs.

Now for the other news. My computer will be cut off soon, so I am going to work on my Spring giveaway while I have DSL installed--yes you read it correctly--I'm going into the 21St. Century here in the country-LOL! Dial up is so bad and the trouble I had with ATT is more than one person should endure.
So until then, I bid you a great weekend, like we are having.. It's shorts  and capri time, but I will miss Old Man Winter, but this has been the longest winter I can remember in the South. Love and Hugs, Pat

Blog Store

I mentioned in a previous post about making a blog store to sell some things I have collected over the years and things that I make. I will let you all know when the link becomes available. Right now I am on dial up, but on Friday, I am having a satellite put in for Hughes.net, so I will have DSL. This dial up sucks and it takes too long to get or do anything. Al is going to pay half of it for me, so I will still be paying what I paid for dial up and will cancel that. They sent me a bill for $1800 for the same number just for trying to dial up after I cancelled my long distance service. I still had LOC and Lake Charles was within my circle, but yet they still charged me. Needless to say, it is their fault and I told them I would not pay a crazy charge like that. They changed my password without telling me and so when I tried to get on line, it kept dialing up to get on with an error. Oh the trouble I have had with ATT and I had enough, spending 4 hours one day on my cell phone to get it straight, so we went from 4000 rollover minutes to 800 just by having to call them on my cell phone. They can't help you if you are on the land line, because it's dial up. Why can't they just leave things alone. I liked my old Internet Explorer page and they now have a new one and you have to click on every subject, news, entertainment, etc. and that is just not a good thing. Even ATT, since they joined Yahoo, has changed. Your emails now open at the bottom of the page instead of opening completely. I am all for change, but they are getting out of hand. Well I need to get to work on a Spring Fling giveaway, so will chat later. Blessings to all who have had surgery lately, Joyce and Carole, hope you are all well and healing. I need to get another card in the mail, so need to get off line and get some work done. Will have before and after pictures to show you later. Love and hugs, Pat
